When God saw that the entire population had gone bad and became purely evil, He decided to bring a flood that will destroy the whole Earth and wipe out every person except for Noah and his family. God instructed Noah to build a large ark that can fit a lot of creatures.

When it started raining, Noah along with his wife, three sons (Shem, Ham and Japheth) and their wives, were safely aboard the ark with a pair of every animal that there is. It rained for a total of 40 days and 40 nights.

After the 40 days and 40 nights, Noah sent out a dove to find a piece of dry land but unfortunately never returned. He sent another one after 7 day and it came back with an olive leaf which was a signal that there was a piece of land available where they could land.
